Trees & River
The River
These photos were taken at the river that runs along Frog Island Park in Ypsilanti, MI. I thought the way the trees followed along either side of the river looked very nice. It gave the pictures symmetrical balance. Also, despite what people say, I actually think the grey skies that are so prominent this time of year look cool. They make for a strong atmosphere and a nice backdrop.
Grey Skies
Blue-ish Skies
These were taken from the point of view of train tracks on a bridge above the river shown in the previous location. The barren looking setting really gives the pictures a lot of mood. Once again, I really like the grey sky as a backdrop. It provides contrast between the background and the dark colored trees. P.S. I know these two photos look similar, but I promise they are two different pictures.
Trees
More Trees
These pictures were taken at a field at Frog Island Park. As you can probably tell by now, the main theme of this photo shoot was trees. The trees here made an interesting backdrop, due to them looking almost black against the light grey sky. From the place where I was standing, the trees closer to me stretched out into the photos from the sides. I liked the way this looked, as it gave off the effect of the trees surrounding the viewer.
Yet More Trees
Trees & Grey Skies
These pictures were taken in the areas around my house and in my neighborhood. I took both of these photos from the base of the trees. I liked how from this viewpoint they seemed to stretch upward into the sky. They almost seemed to wrap around the edges of the photo. Similarly to the last set of pictures, this made for a cool surrounding effect.

The Park
Ground Level
These photos were taken at Prospect Park in Ypsilanti, MI. I took both of these from ground level. I liked how this made everything seem taller and more significant. The photo on top also seemed to have the effect of the trees wrapping around the edge of the photo, which I liked. The bottom photo was taken at an angle at ground level that made it seem like every leaf and blade of grass was huge, which I also thought looked interesting and unusual.
